As the school year gains momentum, we are thrilled to share exciting developments in our Farm to School Grant initiative, aiming to provide fresh, locally sourced produce for our school meals and promote agricultural education.
Under the dedicated leadership of Ralph Meredith, his assistant Elizabeth Porras, Shannon Lyman, and Kailee Mallory from the GO CAPS strand, we continue to witness this program flourish. The team has been instrumental in expanding the project, ensuring a steady supply of fresh produce directly to the MIS kitchen for incorporation into nutritious and delicious school meals.
The photos below from the greenhouse next to the Operations building showcase our team's dedicated efforts and provide a visual insight into the daily activities and commitment to bringing farm-fresh produce to students.
In line with our continuous efforts to diversify and enhance our food offerings, we are also excited to announce the launch of MO PORK, making us one of the first districts to introduce this initiative.
This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting sustainability, healthy eating, and agricultural education. We are excited about the future of our Farm to School Program and look forward to sharing more updates as the school year progresses.
