After 32 years in education, Stephanie Heman, Monett High School principal, will retire at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Heman spent four years as the principal and two years as the assistant principal in Monett.
Mrs. Heman has proven her unwavering dedication to students, staff, and community during her tenure. She has launched impactful programs that boosted student success, such as establishing an in-house Missouri Options program and supporting the addition of a rootEd advisor to assist seniors with college and career readiness.
The Monett R-1 School District would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Stephanie Heman for her dedication and service.
"I would like to thank the Monett Community and the Board of Education for all the support you have given me throughout my tenure here," said Stephanie Heman. "This was not an easy decision for me. Being a teacher, coach, and administrator for the past 32 years is all that I have known. I have truly enjoyed my time at Monett High School, and it becomes more difficult to walk away when you enjoy what you are doing. For the last six years, I have forged several lifelong relationships with students, staff, and parents, and for that, I consider myself blessed. I will miss the students and staff at Monett High School, but I am excited for the new adventures ahead of me and spending time with my family."
Best wishes to Stephanie Heman, and we thank her for her contributions to education and the Monett R-1 School District. We are searching for a suitable candidate to take on the role of principal following the retirement of Mrs. Heman.
